About us

St. George Pathfinders is a scouting organization that originated in Russia in 1909. Founded in Northern California in 1950, our chapter carries on the longstanding tradition of mentoring youth in:

Traditional Scouting Skills

Developing a strong moral character

Learning the responsibilities of citizenship

Maintaining close ties to their Russian heritage

Our organization holds monthly gatherings during the school year. Meetings may include outings in nature or hiking, cultural events, community service, or celebrations of holidays of special significance to scouts. Depending on the event, scouts may meet altogether or by age group: cub scouts (7-11 year olds) and girl and boy scouts (12-18.) Every summer we run a two-week camp for all ages.

Emblem

Our emblem is a lily with our patron St. George in the foreground. The ribbon along the bottom displays our motto: “Be Prepared!”. The three petals of the lily represent the three parts of the scout oath:

Duty to God and country

Helping others

Obeying the scout laws
